(Review of Hidden Palace by Rlan)
This game was made to show the world what Hidden Palace (A Level of Sonic 2 Taken out at the last minute) looked like with using areas of the only evidence we had (we now can get a ROM of Sonic 2 beta with HP) from Magazine Pictures. To make a well-made version of what HP could have been.
Graphics Since it had used sprites from Old magazines, it kinda does look kinda scrappy, but then this was made from scanned pictures.
But the levels are well seeable.
Though the Badniks look rather large, and the sonic sprite is clearer than the background making it look weird, but it still is rather good
Sound The Midi sound is what the sonic net community think is the Background for the level, which is also found in Sonic 2 through sound test, though it CAN be a bit irritating at times, It’s rather good.
Gameplay Sonic is the same as always, but sometimes he gets stuck on a ledge or something, but nothing much.
Lastability Well it’s one level, and not very long, but the fact is the game wasn’t made for this use, but to show the world what HP MAY of looked like.
The Bottom Line Well done fan game, using sprites from magazines was a great idea, too bad that there are a few faults in it.
