(Review of Knuckles Millenium by Matt the Yak)
Depending on your point of view, 2001 is either the first or second year of the third millenium. It was inevitable that a millenium-themed SFG would come out at some point, and Knuckles Millenium is it.
And is it a _good_ millenium-themed game?
Let's see.
(Graphics)
They're Chaotix-themed.Chaotix backgrounds, a Chaotix Knux sprite, and mix-n-match original baddies made of S2/S3 badnik parts; they're not bad graphics.
Sprite's a little dodgy though.
Not much, but there's a few animations lacking.
(Springing, for example: it's just a gliding animation facing upwards.
Dying is exactly the same animation.)
And when Knuckles beats a level, for some reason he celebrates by assuming his standing animation and hovering diagonally up into the air and down again.
Weird.
But the rest is great.
Including something not many SFGs have: animals freed from badniks!
(Sound)
All S2/S3&K midis. All regualr sound effects (ring, spring, bash, hurt, star-post).
No jump for some reason though.
Ah well.
(Playability)
It's a platform game, and that's that.Veeery little variety, apart from sometimes you'll have different things to dodge.
(Flame jets in Plasma City, etc.)
Bosses are extremely linear, always moving left-and-right across the screen shooting stuff for you to avoid.
However, they do get progressively more challenging, the trick being in the avoiding of what they shoot at you.
Despite all that, it manages to be quite fun, the levels being quite well designed.
But then it's almost ruined by two words:
Modern Temple.
You see, disappearing platforms now work by falling off the level the nanosecond you come into contact with them.
And they fall faster than you do, meaning you have absolutely no chance to jump off onto a stable platform.
As soon as you touch a disappearing platform, you're dead meat, matey.
And to top it off, disappearing platforms happen to look exactly the same as regular ones, slowing the level to snail's pace.
Even this might be tolerable, if not for Knux's lung capacity, or lack thereof.
He has virtually no time in which to slowly navigate through screenfuls of water, attempting to make it to the next irregularly-spaced air bubbles.
And it's frustrating as all hell.
Ah well.
(Lastability)
It's a fairly short game (what with the choice to save your game after each zone), but it's easy to pick up and play (at least, so long as you're not playing Modern Temple) and so it's easy to come back to.Longevity is helped by a level select code given to you the first time you finish the game.
(Presentation)
Impressive.Classy-looking title/menu screen.
A plot-cutscene on auto-play after the title screen.
Three save-game slots.
(Plus the choice of "No Save".)
Few, if any, spelling/grammar mistakes.
Simple titlecards complete with spin-dash sound.
It's all black, and simple, and classy.
A plot in the manual that is actually followed in the game.
Teaser level descriptions in the manual, just like in real Sonic manuals.
I like.
(Overall)
If not for Modern Temple and associated gameplay faults, I've give this an A, or at least a B-plus.As it is, it gets a B-minus.
Which means: close to being cool, but just missed...
RATING B-
(Review of Knuckles Millenium by TGF Team)
Knuckles Millenium is an above average game starring everyone's favorite echidna!(Graphics)
Something that most people overlook is the graphics of the Installer.Scans of various Knuckles comics were added in the Installer for this game, and it looked very nice.
In-game graphics were nothing special - all the graphics were from Knuckles Chaotix.
The badniks were fusion graphics, though, which was a nice change.
At least they aren't the same old SEGA badniks, anyway.
7/10
(Sound)
For some reason, the sounds were being cut off quite frequently when I tried this game.It may have just been my computer, but all my other games worked fine, so I'm not sure.
The sounds I was able to hear, though, were just basic Sonic sounds.
The music was classic Sonic music, remixed, though, so that was a nice change.
While the remixes weren't all that creative, they were better than listening to the same old Sonic tunes again.
6/10
(Presentation)
The engine is above average for this game.Knux comes equipped with the basic Spin move, but couldn't glide or climb, which was a bit disappointing.
Otherwise, it was well designed. Ring loss worked well, as well as bouncing off of boxes and badniks, etc.
6/10
(Gameplay)
Not much presentation - there was no story that I could tell. You started the game and began playing immediately.
The levels were nice - more than just holding right, and they seemed to be designed well enough.
A few spots could've been improved, but overall, it was OK.
7/10
(Conclusion)
Knuckles Millenium is an above average Knuckles game that's worth playing at least once.Things could've been improved, but it was a good first try.
I'm looking forward to trying and reviewing the sequel soon.
I give it a

Knuckles Millenium...Hmmm.
What I have to say about this game relates to a few certain levels and how hard it is.
I suppose you all know what level I'm talking about...
Okay, well lets get on with the review.
Graphics: Graphics are amasing, The only fan game I played with Chaotix Level Graphics, and Chaotix Sprites...
Amasing.
The Badniks seem to be some new creations, possibly fused.
The rings are from sonic spinball, as you can tell from how fast they spin.
Hey, at least I do fading & stuff!
(But I guess its almost like lost castle in Sonic Chaotix.
Sound: Sound is Good.
The MIDI's are a good selection and they work with every level.
The Midi's are from the recent Sonic games, Most are from Sonic 3.
I must give comment on the sounds.
It gets very annoying when you hit a badnick and you hear that stupid "POP" sound, very frustrating, but I bet most fan games have that sound.
The sounds are From Sonic 3 mostly and there is no jump sound, which I think is good considering the jump sounds in most fan games are annoying.
Other sounds remain unchanged.
Gameplay: This is one of those hard games, were you just have to keep playing and playing until you get it...
Luckili there is a save feture after every level, so thats lucky for the player especially after playing on modern temple.
The bosses are not much of a challenge as they apper to move in a certain pattern..
Yes, you guest it...
Left...
Right...
Left...
Right...
Shoot somthing...
Left...
Right...
Left.
So not much of a challenge.
The game is very hard to complete but some levels are easy to complete...
Talking about completing levels...
When you complete a level, you start hovering on the spot with a ring in your hand (Very confusing), what kind of a celerbration is hovering on the spot?
Anyway, knuckles cannot perform some of his moves...
He cannot glide and the spring and the dying animations are just a Knux gliding sprite facing upwards (Again Very Confusing).
Presentation: Ahh Presentation...
The part I've been waiting for.
The level are well structured and certain items are places in even the most perfect positions, that it is similar to a proparly release genesis game.
The Items and rings are place in good places and some of the extra lives are in some hard places, creating a challenge for the player.
Now...
Remember that level I was talking about...
Well if you have gotten up to it, then you will know about it, but for those who ponder about this level and have never even seen it...
Welcome to "MODERN TEMPLE":
Modern Temple: Home of Badniks that are actually hard to kill, Lots of water, lack of air bubbles, lack of items, lack of rings, lack of starposts, and beleive me you need them for this level, and the worst of the worst...
The falling platform.
My god what An Annoying level.
My advice is to save your game after modern temple... belive me you'll thank me for telling you that.
Conclusion: Besides "MODERN TEMPLE" and that stupid "POP" sound, I consider this game to be playable and somthing you can go back to.
Well done beamer, you earned yourself 8 out of 10.
Quick note...
NO MORE MODERN TEMPLES IN THE NEXT GAME YOU MAKE.....
PLEASE!
MY RATING: 8/10
(Review of Knuckles Millenium by Dark Knight Kain)
Knuckles Millenium is a great fangame first of all.It does have a few flaws (The Modern Temple platforms for one) but overall it's one of the best traditional fangames I've played.
(Graphics)
The Knuckles sprites level graphics are from Knuckles' Chaotix, the badniks and bosses are from Sonic 2 through Sonic & Knuckles. They're better than some game's graphics, Knuckles is missing some animations (Such as dieing) but they're good.
(Sound)
The sound is great. The sound effects are clear, not glitchy sounding like in most games.
The music is all from other Sonic games (Which to me, unlike most people, is a good thing.).
I hate to hear music from other games and/or "real" music in a Sonic game.
(Presentation)
The game is presented nicly, nice in-game menus, a saving system, and starpost. Not in-game it comes with a nice manual explaining the story and the zones.
(Gameplay)
It's the CnC platform engine, so I'm not going to go into the bugs in that engine. The springs don't bounce you as high as they should, and jumping on badniks bounces you to high.
Also there are evil falling platforms in the Modern Temple Zone that fall the second you touce them, I have a quick solution to this, bounce across the platforms that can fall, always land on the edges and if a platform starts to fall quickly bounce back onto the one before it.
Other than these two problems the engine is good and gameplay is great.
(Conclusion)
This is a very good traditional Sonic fangame, if you're tired of playing fangames that have nothing to do with the original Sonic-style you'll love this game.(Review of Knuckles Millenium by J_MAN
This is my first ever review so don't read it and say it's bad cause i've never done this before.Basicly some bad guy (not robotnik) has stole an axtreamly powerful emerald called the millenium emeralld and it's up to Knuckles to find the 4 power rings required to get the emerald and save the world from being taken over.
Unfortunately Knuckles can't glide or climb walls in this game.
Too bad.
Graphics: These graphics are quite good, but the platforms and thingys that knuckles ran on looked a bit dodgey.
Sound: I liked the sound.
Alot of it was from preivious sonic & knuckles games.
Ahh the good old days.
Gameplay: The game has some really easy levels.
4 levels with 2 zones each and each zone has a boss.
The bosses are too easy and some of them are from old games like the wood chopping thingy from sonic&knuckes.;
The one thing that really annoys me about this game is the modern temple zone.
It's one of those underwater levels but it only takes about five seconds until the count down for drowning.
It's impossible to pass this friggin level!
Presentation: This could have been done a bit better.
Every time Knuckles dies the sprite for glideing is used facing upwards.
It looks really cheap and stupid.
Conclusion: In conclusion this game is quite easy, but all over when you get to the modern temple zone.
I just hope that Knuckles Millenium 2 isn't so much like the first.
MY RATING: 4/10
(Review of Knuckles Millenium by Goku
A very fun game.I found that the only things off are miniscule.
Graphics: The graphics are pretty good for a home brewed video game.
Knuckles' head is too shiny though.
I like the mixed robots.
9/10
Sound: The sounds are good.
I like how he made them more original by messing with them.
10/10
Gameplay: Only problems are that dying takes a thousand years and theres no gliding.
8/10
Presentation: Presentation is great.
menu screen is awsome.
10/10
Conclusion: This game is respectful.
If your a fan of Knuckles you'll probably love this game.
if you hate glitches you might not like it.
Overall download it.

Knuckles Millenium--Interesting name, and since I don't know the game's story, I won't bother thinking of whether or not it fits.In fact, I'm skeptical that there is even a story at all.
Not that the game needed one.
What this game needed was some other things...
Graphics: They aren't bad.
The creator has found lots of Sonic backgrounds and placed them in combinations that add up to a rather pleasing whole.
Oh, and by the way, these graphics are FUNNY!
Some to laugh at, some to laugh with.
First, the Knux sprite isn't complete, so some of his animations are simply recycled versions of others.
When Knuckles goes off a spring, or dies, he is shown in his glide animation, pointing upwards.
It is quite goofy to look at, but the real punchline comes when you get a Game Over (Which will be often in this game, as I'll explain), and you see Knuckles sinking slowly, looking as if he is gliding upwards, and hearing a traditional sounding "failure" music score.
It sure made me giggle! Also, Knux looks like he is surfing when he loses rings, and when he wins levels, he holds up a ring and moves up and down, looking very funny.
I haven't even mentioned the enemies yet.
They are mixed parts of past Sonic enemies, and some mixtures are quite creative!
I was confronted by armies of some of the funniest enemies I've ever seen in a game: Bats carrying the square faces of robots, turtles flying classic Robotnik flying machines, and chickens driving UFOs!
Funny!
There was another nice touch to the graphics--When you destroy enemies, little animals come out.
Just like in regular Sonic games!
A little interesting, however, is how the game's creator chose to make them move--Imagine my surprise when I saw the classic Sonic 1 harp seal pup start flying through the air!
To summarize my points, the graphics are fun and funny.
Sound: Some good music, but the same problem I've seen in every Sonic fangame I've ever played--the sound effects are too much louder than the music.
So, when I turned up the speakers to hear the music, I had the sound effects pierce my ears.
Gameplay: It's not SEGA-grade gameplay.
The levels are a little bit conservatively-made compared to some other fangames I've played, like Sonic and Friends or Neo Sonic Universe, but those games had their own problems.
All in all, the levels are enjoyable enough, though pretty short, and with only one path through them.
For the bosses, you usually trade hits with them until you win, so if you make sure to grab up some of the rings you lose, you'll probable be OK.
However, this game has a very bad design flaw: It gives you only one life to start out with.
You can gain more, but it is still a poor idea to do what they did with the lives function.
This is especially frustrating on the Modern Temple level, the beating of which requires you to memorise the locations of some platforms that cave in.
I was pretty ticked by the time I beat it.
And then, there is the final boss.
I had no idea how to beat him.
Let's just say the gameplay doesn't compare to the graphics.
Presentation: A mixed bag.
The installation screen had pictures from Knux comics on it, and that was cool.
However, there isn't much presentation in the game itself.
Just a black background for the startup screen, with a picture of Knuckles on it.
Nothing else.
The screens to introduce zones and acts are just red text over a black background, and then, over the level.
Conclusion: It's got some nice graphics, but then there are the poorly worked-on levels, the one life you get to start out with, and that indecipherable final boss.
This game could've deserve the amount of work it had on graphics applied on the gameplay as well.
