The Legendary God of Sound.
On many occasions, the home planet of this guy was saved EVERY SINGLE TIME AT THE END.
Well, as we last re-call (most of us, anyways.....), he just beat the pants off of a creature known as RAGE, a bio-creation made by Dr. Eggman himself.
Course, I hear he ain't makin' them 'bots, nowadays, if you know what I mean...
Nothing special happens here....Neo-Island.
We just resurrected this floating land ONCE again.
It's not easy looking over this place, especially when yer friend decides to sleep around the Neo-Altar all day...one day after another, it's a drag...other than the OverLanders who have taken over Neo-City, no furre lives here....just me 'n' the Cat...
...and then.....HE came along...the God of Sound.....SONIC THE HEDGEHOG!
My pal tells me he's on the outer-limits of Neo-City.
Hmm....how do I know it's the real deal.....from what I hear, he only responds quickly to distress....hmm...I might wanna rile up something...people might be hurt, but you know, what's a few injuries to a massive world-ending event that has been prophesized in this old relic of a book once used to study the theologies of an old Overland race...if all goes to plan, he will reveal himself...if not....well then...I better go get ready to resurrect this hunk of rock again...
~ Raystorm Nimbus
Sonic has stood around Angel Island for quite awhile... he noticed some strange happening ever since his stay.
He heads for the Lost Ruins of Echidnopolis.
Tails, not wanting to be left out this time and having not seen Sonic in almost 10 months, landed on Angel Island to search for Sonic...Knuckles, as guardian of the Angel Island, has been slacking he thought...he also wants to go on an adventure, seeing how he barely leaves his post to do so...he doesn't worry about the Master Emerald anymore, seeing how Eggman 'bought the farm' a year ago...and Amy? Just wants to get on Sonic's nerves...
Sonic is at it again, and his friends are just tangling into his world.
The planet is still not completely saved yet.....
Third Time's a Charm, right?
-----------------------------
As Mobian legends go, a blue heroic God of Sound shall rise and defend the world...on more than one occasion.
Sonic has saved planet Mobius on many accounts....but 2 years later after the fall of Neo-Island, weird events are abound on Angel Island.
More or less, rumor abound has it that another island is involved.....
Enter Sonic and Tails, two heroes who have disappeared from the scene since the whole 'RAGE' attack upon Mobius.
They check out and investigate Angel Island... the island's guardian, Knuckles, naturally checks out the chaos...and Amy...she hitched a ride in Tails' plane....whups.....
*Improved engine. We spanked most of the bugs out, and added a few fail-safes.*

NEO-SONIC 3 "FIRST-MANIC TEAM-EDITION"(Graphics)
Oh yea.....I mean YES!
THIS ROCKS : SONIC TAILS KNUCKLES AND AMY!
Oh yeah, Manic thank you DOMO ARIGOTO and Gracias!
These are CEL SHADED!
..and they move fluidly too!
Plus the new guys, Raystorm and Manic (!) look and are radical!!!
Now's a good time for me to mention Sonic's goofy anime like sty....anime...LIKE THE INTRO SEQUENCE!
Even the in game graphics are sharp and cool (Play Botanic Base and tell me different) !
They blow my mind!
20/20
Game Play: It's the same NS2 engine (which is cool!) but less buggy!Plus unique moves for all, HOWEVER, I'm sorry to say it's buggy in a few ways (i.e. stuck on some stages slowdown, and minor glitches) personally, it's a rush job but not as badly as KC3 (DOH!)..however...BONUS GAMES GALORE!!!!
BUGGIES and GRINDING, plus the challenging game altogether....too tough sometimes (Raise yer hand if ya lost to the Raystorm Race first 20 times).
But yeah Manic Jungle is a personal fave of mine, with it's special effects.
And the cutscenes reveal the oh-so-thought of secret to Neo-Island as well as a few other characters!
47/50
(Sound)
WHOO!!Manic Team need no regconizing here cuz come on..
It's them!!
32+ tracks on the game ranging from rushed tempo to the Neo-Sonic theme music Scatman!
(Not one to say but Manic told me a code for music test and I'm glad...code is hold E,A,R, and press S.
Then press enter!
Every character voice intact and jsut pure cool with the sound exactly from Sonic Adventure!!!
Though no MP3s, the intro DBZ music was a cool surprise to me!
20/20
(Longevity)
God do I really need to explain? It's Neo-Sonic, it's long, it's Manic Team....
10/10
(Conclusion!)
Sad to say Aytac Aksu, Manic Team looks like tough comp for ya: what ya missed in SCR is here: 6 characters, 16+ long stages, gameplay that's whacked man, and even being released for it's birthday!Tey went back to most their roots and dug up new ones....::SNIFF:: the ending surprises those it might make you sad... might make ya happy, but it felt kinda Matrix like to me!
As the first to yet again rank another fine Manic Team Presentation, allow the chao to say:
OVERALL: 97/100 A+
::Sniff check the game out..it's only 5 megs..HAHA!
Plus the funny videos man! Box bashed on head!!!::
(Review of Neo-Sonic 3 by AKA)
Hi, I am AKA.Some of you may remember me from previous pieces of crap like Sonic Zero, and Back to the Floating Island.
But today I am here to set something straight.
I came to SFGHQ a couple of days ago looking for a game because obviously I was bored and looking for something fun to do.
I looked around, played a couple of games.
Then I came to Neo Sonic 3.
I asked a few people their opinions of it.
They said it was good.
So out of interest, I downloaded it....
About 5 minutes after I downloaded it.
5 minutes was enough, since I already beat the game with Sonic.
I knew this game was awful, completely overrated, and justice was needed.
So I started posting my disgust for my game on Message Boards and chats and people responded with agreement and disagreement.
Now I have to ask you the question... did you like Neo Sonic 3?
Let's get on with the review, shall we?
(Graphics)
This is where the game is at it's best; I think the intro is really cool.So were the characters sprites, but the Background graphics sometime degrade and start to look like crap, but overall the graphics don't make me extremely disgusted.
They are about average equaled out which means the intro could have been extremely cool if it wasn't with the other stuff.
(Sound)
Nice Midi’s.The character voices get on my nerves quite a lot though.
This is another quite average point.
Not a lot to say here sorry.
(Gameplay)
This is where the game is declared utter crap. The collision is buggy and the Jet Grind Sonikku level is almost impossible to beat because of awful programming.
Also the race with that one guy is pretty much impossible, I beat it because of pure luck (and the fact that you could spin dash in mid air.)
This game is almost impossible to play because of the awful engine.
(Lastability)
This is actually where it really shines. This game is long, very long.
Some levels it is incredibly easy to die on and then some are incredibly easy to beat.
It varies itself out.
(Overall)
This game is another example of Quality sacrificed for Quantity and I believe that this game didn't deserve any of the props it got, ok... well some... but a majority the props it go were just undeserved and I think this game is mediocre at best!I give it a C

(Review of Neo-Sonic 3 by Team Virus)
I Have Played all 3 Neo Sonic Series.Neo Sonic 1 I found rather uterly dull as it was a Knp Presentation
Neo Sonic 2 improved alot on its bugs , Then I heard Neo Sonic 3 was comming.
Of course.
I was joyed.
Until I played it and completed it......
Neo Sonic 3 went BOOM
(Graphics)
The Backgrounds are from cool to crap, Emerald Gulley I found was no more than an altered Lava Reef, But Over backgrounds like the 1st Level are trimmingly cool and catchy. The Neo Cell Shaded Sprites are what get the graphics a few points
7/10
(Sound)
Brilliant sounds, even the intro Midi is cool. Some sounds are from various sonic games, others I notcied where kinda either made up or off a song Has Its Basic sounds like Jumping and springs and a rather better Rings sound.
So Sounds Are
9/10
(Presentation)
The Plane Started at good rates. The plane crashed when it came to gameplay.
There are tons of bugs.
I will admit the get-stuck-in-the-wall bug is common, but ARGH.
You eventually start to run fast with Sonic, then after a few seconds he slows down!?
And Knuckles & Tails, you press ctrl to glide, which you happen to be near a ceiling, then...HUh?
Wheres Knux And Tails?
Oh look they're stuck in the ceiling.
The Raystorm race I found amusing.
Until It got to the point where you had to spindash in mid air and then jump.
What kinda attack is that?
Now for the worst level of all.
The Jet Set Radio Level featuring amy & Sonic.
You grind oin a platform all swift and dandy, you then go to jump on platforms right near the bottom of the level.
And then, Sonic and Amy go right threw the poles and die!
Its turns out you hafta press ctrl while you hit the dam platform, now that could of been fixed for some actuall good grinding, so Gameplay Gets
4/10
(Gameplay)
Ok, This Bit Has Its General Ups ands downs, The intro sprites are rated from poor to good. The Sonic and Knux I found rather cool.
Amy Looked like a real yabo though.
Now Onto The Sprites.
The Cell Shaded Look Is Rather catching.
Also Manic and Raystorm look cool.
And I hafta Admit, the leveld esigns are rather good, apart from the very short levels.
And DOnt remind me of the Jet Set Radio Level, GRRRR, So Presentation get a
6/10
(Conclusion)
Sounds, Cool.Prestation, alright.
graphics, good.
Gameplay.......WHY OF A NO GOOD ***** ** * * * * * * ** * * ******.......Ahem.. scuse me Now if the designers spent more time fixing the bugs and improving the levels, the game would of been better probaly.
Bur since they didnt fix this, Im sorry Manic Team but you getta

(Review of Neo-Sonic 3 by Bennettman)
After having played my first Manic Team game, Knuckles Chaotix 3, I was surprised to see neither the pop-up window at the start or the banging music as the Sega/Manic Team logos flashed up.Thankfully, Manic's "WHO'S YO DADDY!" restored my faith that this was in fact a Manic Team game... anyway!
On with the review!
(Graphics)
The graphics are absolutely beautiful! All the sprites are brand new, cell-shaded versions of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and the others, that ooze the Manic attitude that the team's known for.
Sonic falls asleep for example if you leave him even a second!
Sonic has the SA2-style speed-lines when he goes really fast too.
The badniks are the standard Sonic badniks you've seen before.
The backgrounds... wow!
These are about as good as you'll get for a normal TGF/CnC game, apart from next-gen ripped screens.
The anime sequence at the start, accompanied by (initially)"Blue Velvet" from Dragonball GT, is really entertaining too.
You don't get much better graphics than this.
(Sound)
Manic Team, known for their great choice of music (like I will soon, just you wait!!), certainly haven't disappointed in NS3.As well as stuff from the Sonic series, there's Dragonball Z/GT, Tenchi Muyo, Thunderblade, Space Harrier, and other game tracks, with MIDI versions of Scatman John's "I'm The Scatman", Blur's "Woohoo!" and Robert Miles' "Children".
While they aren't from Sonic games, almost all of them fit the right level/cutscene.
This has been really well done.
The SFX are original too, they're a real breath of fresh air amongst the rehashes of stuff done all the time.
The explosion sounds really good, however the jump sound still sounds weirdly like the MD/Gen Sonic jump, even though it's lower.
(Presentation)
This is where NS3 loses a few points. The gameplay is erratic... a lot.
Just the slightest hit of a button, and the sprites go quite a long way.
Hitting something small is quite hard, and the zigzag-like jump looks weird.
Sonic's engine is pretty good, it feels like Sonic, apart from those two points.
Knuckles' engine is a little worse, the glide goes down a little fast, and if you hold jump, he flies into the air when he lands.
However, Knuckles is just a little worse than Sonic.
Amy's engine is I feel the best.
She feels a lot lighter to play, and the hammer-hit is inspired, working as soon as you hit the button to hit enemies even if they catch you by surprise.
All good?
Nope.
Tails' engine is absolutely terrible.
Apart from his lack of speed, and a slow acceleration rate, the flying is absolutely abysmal.
From hitting jump the second time, he flies up quite fast, you think it's going fine as he stays around the same altitude, then suddenly he zooms downwards after about 2 seconds, much of the time into the bottom of the screen.
Not the best from Manic I feel.
Springing made me very tense and on edge.
Much of the time the springs are right above a drop, and are in a line vertically.
As you literally bounce up and down between springs - not done well - you're trying to maneuver the character to go through the spring instead of off it and a lot of the time I fell.
In one of the jungle levels, you have to jump over a chasm onto a spring, then over another chasm from that spring to another one, and with the erratic engine it is VERY hard.
The badniks move way too fast as well.
That said, the levels are designed well.
Many people have commented on the Jet Grind Sonniku level being terrible, but I don't see that.
Yes, it took me a long time to work out the essentials of grinding, like pressing CTRL (d'oh!), but once you work out to press forward as you hit the rail, you can grind almost like Sonic does in the cutscene afterwards!
The take on Buggy Heat is not good though, one false move can more than halve the fuel bar, and I ended up getting through as quickly as possible.
The bosses do not have any kind of AI which makes it boring, and the multiple-damage per hit part it weird, but I suppose that's always been a part of Manic games.
(Gameplay)
LONGEVITY ========There are a shedload of levels, enough to REALLY need the savegame function, which works well.
Added to that are two extra characters, with one boss level each.
However these aren't good, holding CTRL makes it very easy, they aren't really bosses!
A level select option would have been nice after completion, you have to delete the character's game to play a level you've come past.
The soundtest is nice too, with most, but not all of the music.
It's good enough to want to play it quite a few more times for certain levels.
As a whole the longevity is good, but not perfect.
(Conclusion)
At the end of the day, there’s no real reason you shouldn’t get Neo Sonic 3.The story isn’t that good, the engine isn’t perfect, but the presentation is second to very few, and it’s damn enjoyable to play!
(Review of Neo-Sonic 3 by Thomas Swift "Swifthom")
Hmm.Neo Sonic 3.
A classic, the third of a series that has worked it's way up to be one of my all time favoirites.
What a masterpeice, what a game.
I have been shocked by it, cried over it, laughed at it.
A well done final part of a triology by Manic team.
They have sent it out with not just a bang but a whole nuclear warhead to clear the rest away.
But is it all it's cracked up to be?
Some say not, so I have decided to review what i once thought:
(Graphics)
Yes.I like it.
Wonderfull, masterpeice, Hit.
The graphics are the best i've seen in a while.
The graphics are completely original and work a treat.
Download this game just to marvel at the graphics and if you can't be bothered the Sprites are up in the sprites section.
Also the hand drawn graphics in the intro are superb.
The backgrounds are from a mixture of games and work well with the game
(Sound)
Almost as good as the graphics. The Music plays along to the levels with ease.
And it is varied so Most people will find some music from games they have'nt heard before.
At least it's not all Sonic Music.
The samples are normal, nothing speical.
(Presentation)
With all this going on, what can i say about the gameplay.Sonic is slow, Tails Knuckles and Amy are even slower.
Apart from that it works well, the bosses are good. The only jerky bit is Amy's go at the Jet Set Gring thingamy level.
It is so difficult to keep Amy on the rails on the uneven surfaces.
(Gameplay)
The Game's best aspect is definately presentation. The cool intro, the title screen and character select.
It is perfect.
Also the Movies between the levels work well.
My only complaint is the fact that Some of the longer movies can't be skipped.
Having finished the game, I must admit the ending bought a tear to my eye.
How could they do it.
Why did they have to...
But I won't spoil the stry, if yu want to find out download and play the game.
The game works well.
Some may critisise it, some may say tjhat it's to slow, some may Shrug it off.
Don't.
The game has a well rounded mix of gameplay and a very decent lastability.
And the added save feature, I give it 7 out of 10.
Yes it is good, better than some, an all time clasic but still fails in some vital sections.
But it's good none the less.
I don't want to hear you say otherwise.
RATING 7/10
(Review of Neo-Sonic 3 by Gtheking)
Neo Sonic 3 was the first Manic Team fangame I ever played.I actually played the other 2 Neo Sonic games only later.
(Just a side note: Neo Sonic 2 was released at November 18th 2000, in the same date of my 13th birthday.)
All 3 were great games, but this one is overall the best one, in my opinion.
(Graphics)
Wonderful Graphics! This was the first fangame I saw that is using those "cell-shaded" sprites.
I like these Graphics.
The character models are just look wonderful and planned well.
What a shame that the sprite models of the enemies doesn't match to the ones of the main characters, as the enemies' models are normal.
Score-25/25
(Sound)
Music and Sound are kinda nice. This is the only area in the game that didn't really instersted me.
But since the only horrible sound is the jump one, this area will get a
Score of-
23/25
(Presentation)
If there is something in this game that is better than the Graphics, it will absoloutly be the Gameplay. The gameplay is just great!
Not much bugs are found, and each character has its own special ability.
Just Excellent!!!!!!
Score-25/25
(Gameplay)
Good Presentation for the game! The stages are designed well, and the mini-stages are fun!
The characters are moving pretty fast, excluding Amy, of course, and even the glitch of Knuckles'Tails' bumping around when they touch the ground while GildingFlying can be really useful!
Yeah, I admit the Raystorm's matches are bad!
Plus, Sonic is the only one that has bosses or MORE than 1 mini-stage!
overall, the Score is-
24/25
(Conclusion)
I think Neo Sonic 3 is overall one of the best fangames I ever played. So wonderful design, so wonderful Graphics and Gameplay, nice Presentation and Sound, too.
Absoloutly the best Neo Sonic game out of the 3, and it was hard for me to find any fangame that is way better then this one!
