(Story)
One day, somewhere in the darkest depths of space, Robotnik was sitting, pondering his next diabolically evil scheme.
He was getting extremely sick of that annoying little hedgehog destroying his beautiful creations.
It was then that a thought struck him.
He had such an abundance of scrap metal from previous failed attempts, that he might as well use it all.
He worked long into the night, much to the displeasure of neighbouring creatures.
After many hours of hard work, he stepped back to look at his masterpiece.
From mere scraps he had created a machine capable of something that before was unimaginable.
He had created the Automatic Badnik Generator.
He could now mass produce badniks without going through the bother of capturing
helpless animals to create them from.
With this machine, he could take over the Universe and still get home in time for lunch.
Robotnik got into his Egg-o-Matic, and drove off with the Automatic Badnik Generator behind him.
Guide Sonic through 6 zones filled with perilous traps and vicious badniks.
Lead him through difficult Special Stages towards the Chaos Emeralds.
Help him to send Robotnik packing once again.

(Review of Sonic Ultra by Matty Hedgehog)
This was probably one of the first Sonic fangames out there that had the ability to scroll thanks to TGF.There isn't much of story in this game but that's OK since it is a game rather than a movie.
The basics of the Sonic game are put in this game bar maybe spindashing but then TGF wasn't programmed to do so.
Graphics Sonic is a Sonic 3 sprite (they were very popular around the time) and looks quite good except when he walks and runs he only has TWO frames for each!!!!
So Sonic looks jumpy on the run!!!!
lol!!!
I think that bit made me laugh even though Sonic is supposed to have more frames for running and walking.
The graphics are HUGE!!!!
You'll have set to about 640 X 480 on CN'C or TGF to get it to scroll better.
The backgrounds are from Sonic 2 and Sonic 3.
Sound All Sonic midis including a few favourites of mine - flying battery, hydrocity and 2 Player Emerald Hill.
the sound are also from Sonic 3D Blast.
No jump yet but then the Sonic 1 jump is very annoying anyway.
Presentation Mostly rather simple, the Special Stages feature collecting Flickies to gain Chaos Emeralds.
The springs actually work in this game bouncing Sonic up.
However in Hydrocity Zone one of the silly wall bugs stops Sonic from reaching the platform.
Still it's nice to see springs that work!
Gameplay The screen is HUGE!!!!!
The scrolling slows down is if it put ot this size so you should reduce the size so that it doesn't annoy you too much.
The ringloss is there too not HP ala Sonic Y2K making seem more like Sonic and less like an RPG or some thing like that.
Conclusion A good try by Gregorsoft, let down by lack of animation and the persistant wall bugs that occur in these games.
RATING: 7/10
(Review of Sonic Ultra by Rlan)
Some Games are applauded for their graphics, some with their grand Music, or perhaps some brill playability, This game makes it, but falls down for one or two things that make the game frustrating. Graphics are great, But fall drastically because of SONIC! Gameplay is great, but overuse of the tools makes it annoying. Read on… Graphics The backgrounds are some great stuff, using them from past sonic games such as Sonic 1 or Sonic 3, all nice and bright and colorful, just as we thought it would be, Seeing that the creator decided o use C&C’s stupid looking full screen mode does create some problems with speed. But if you have C&C or TgF handy you can change this easily, Whats the drawback you say well I happens to be Sonic, SONIC IS TERRIBLE! He has 2 frames for each thing! Making him looks absolutely dreadful. Even Sonic Boom had more frames than this sonic. It’s very hard to stand. But the maker of this game says that he will have more frames in the sequel (thank the lord prayers) Sound Um…yeah every level has its own music extracted from the games blah blah exactly the same as every other game etc etc, funnily enough, every level has a different finishing sound O_o Gameplay It’s really good Sonic Plays like he should, Even the 3D (well, kinda semi thingy 3D) stages play well, but when it comes to springs, um well…. Yeah. The many tries by fans out there to get a decent spring action to work have been plagued for years. Well now SU tries to fix this problem by making Sonic move away from the spring when he hits it. The plus is it works! The minus is it makes Sonic look awkward when this happens, he moves too fast making it look more like he used a teleporter. Makes it weird… Lastability Unfortunately, This is a short game. With easy Bosses and only a very few amount of Badniks in each level making the game finishable in about 5 – 10 minutes depending on how good you are, hopefully the Sequel will be much better. The Bottom Line A Great game only let down by a few faults, won’t last long but a great game nonetheless.(Music Credit)
